I am looking for a little background on what the TVRR Museum trackage used to be into Chattanooga from the current Museum location.  I know some of it was the old Southern alignment.  However in some places I can see the abandoned raised alignment..next to the current TVRR trackage.  Were both in use at one time?  i.e. the current track was used to reach industry and the raised trackage for bypass?

The chattanoogan (dot) com ran a series of articles this year on the numerous rail lines which have run in and though Chattanooga, TN since the 19th century.  In their search feature, use "Chattanooga Railroad Series".  These particular links would help answer your question.
