my test track is a portable 3 ft section with 2 wires and alligator clips that i attach to the tracks but of course it reads all the engines.Fixed one is powered by aux z500 and fixed 2 has nothing connected to inputs at this time.

Test track off TIU fixed 2,will this stay isolated from my fixed 1 which runs my complete layout?
Yes, it should.
and can i jump from fixed 1 input to fixed 2 input for power?

On the input side, yes.
If you have Fixed 1 output connected to a layout, any read or similar functions will detect locos on both tracks. If you are going to program locos on your test track, I would disconnect the Fixed 1 output.

Yes, but it might be time to get another power source. A Z-500 sounds good for a test track on fixed 2, but maybe get a Z-1000 brick for the layout, connected to fixed 1.
The Z500 feeds the aux port only. A Z1000 feeds fixed 1 in.
willygee, I suggest you get a wall wart or Radio-Shack or equivalent adapter to power the Aux port, use the Z1000 in Fixed 1, and use the Z500 thru Fixed 2 for your test track. The Z500 is more than adequate to power a loco on the test track, and this will permit you to vary voltage on the test track at will without affecting what is connected to Fixed one.
Keep in mind, Variable 1 and Variable 2 can also be change to fixed voltage outputs.
