I'm new to Lionel repair (and the forum) but I'm used to tinkering around with other electromechanical devices - so please forgive my ignorant questions! I appreciate any help anyone can offer!
I've opened up my dad's old Texas Special Lionel unit (see attached photos.) I'm pretty sure the brushes haven't been replaced since the fifties, they are in pretty bad shape as you can see from the photos. A few questions - how do I find the part numbers for these brushes? Does Lionel still sell these direct? Or should I go with someone else?
