Just received the Neil Young Texas Special Station Sounds Diner & Baggage car. Lionel did a great job with the sounds in the Diner car. In addition to the departure & arrival announcements while stopped and the running commentary while moving they have added rail clatter, grind (High pitched metallic sound of wheel flange scraping the inside of the rails) & bump sounds when the speed of the diner car changes.

Thanks Lionel. Nice job.

Thanks Lionel. Nice job.

Nice to hear something positive, and seems like the SSD sounds have been improved. Presumably this is what we can expect with the new issue 21" cars coming out in the next few months.

One query; are you controlling the diner using Legacy? I have issues with a couple of TMCC SSDs that don't respond consistently to the CAB2.

Thanks. For my TMCC diners, all the icons come up on the CAB2 once I've correctly entered the car info but they don't all respond consistently, in particular the meal seating and lounge announcements. It's no big deal as I am thinking of hooking up my old CAB1 to the Legacy base and controlling them that way.

The round object underneath the Sam Houston diner must be a speaker enclosure (?)

Interesting to hear the voices in the announcements. The female voice is a dead ringer for the one in the Acela announcements and it never occurred to me before that she might be a digital/computer generated voice! Woe betide if I am wrong!!!

(Even worse if I am wrong in thinking that one voice sounds pretty close to an MTH character.)
