Well with all the negative posts and those grumbling about the Yellow Hall, Lionel's pull out from the spring show, and the lack of a Legacy and DCS Users group meetings...ok so no one is complaining about those last ones, I think we all have to step back and thank the EDTCA for another great few days away from the office.  As much as you want to complain, 3 days of trains is better than 3 days of work.

While I don't know where the meet is going in the future the one I just left was a good as always with friends and trains!  So again thanks to the many hard working men and women of the EDTCA for another York.  Looking forward to the spring despite who will be there.

The logistics to have a meet twice a year on such a large scale must be overwhelming but it is done! Wow, thank you EDTCA!!! I haven’t missed a meet since I joined the TCA and have enjoyed each and every one despite my layout is totally maxed out.  I keep saying I’m just going for the friendships I’ve developed over the years but, guess what, I always come home with something that I simply couldn’t refuse.

Thanks again EDTCA and TCA itself.  The museum is looking great!

No complaints about the York Meet from me, ever. Except that I eventually have to go home. I love being there so much that after the Halls close on Saturday I go have a cheesesteak at Latucca’s and on my way out I drive through the Fairgrounds one last time.

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who dedicated their time all year long to produce such an amazing and fun event.

Yes, many many thanks to the ED of the TCA. I never complain about York and I always have a good time. Years ago I did complain about one thing: I always felt that picture taking should have been allowed in the Black Hall that houses the modular layout. I felt taking pictures of the layout wouldn’t hurt anyone and I a, very glad that ED realized that that particular rule was silly and they changed it. Now I have ZERO complaints about York. Although, I am not rushing I look forward to the next York with great anticipation!

Hey Eddie, how many days until York week?

Excellent thread - thanks for starting this Marty.

My thanks as well to all the members of the Eastern Division for another excellent meet where I got to socialize with friends, buy new items, and see things I hadn't seen before.   Thanks to your hard work I was able to forget about the real world and become a kid again for two days!

Thanks EDTCA as well, and thank you Marty for posting. Though this is only my second York, I enjoyed it immensely over last October. Why, quite simple, I was able to engage in more conversation this year with the help of a few people here on the forum, Ed Boyle, Allan Miller, Mike Reagan, GunrunnerJohn, Peter "Putnam Division", Alan Arnold, and Scott Mann to name a few. I really think that was something more enjoyable than me buying anything there last week. I even got to elbow Ryan Kunkle about Hudson's (again) as I would love to see a detailed scale model come out.

I really do believe that if you put the clouds over your head, everything you see will be fogged in as it were. Negativity just brings more negativity in the end. Thursday night at the OGR dinner, I sat alone for my meal because there was no other seats where I chose to sit, that's okay. Allan Miller came by to see how everyone was doing and we chatted a bit. Peter " Putnam Division" came by and after talking a bit, invited me to mingle with the fellows. That was awesome as I got to sit and chat about just about everything. Make what you will of it, but I think it was another great York.

My thanks goes out to EDTCA for all of their hard work and effort in making York such a great event.  I also want to thank them for their efforts to improve the experience, such as being able to register for the next meet and take my badge for the next meet home with me (no more worries of it being lost in the mail or arriving late -- I guess my only worry now is forgetting to bring it with me... ), as a tableholder in a member hall, it certainly makes life easier for both me and for them.

And thanks Marty for this thread.

Andy
