Gentlemen,

This past week with the snow and other responsibilities here at the new home, I was unable to publicly thank both Mark Boyce and Jim Lawson for their kindness in helping to expand both my Control System, and my Tin Plate Rolling Stock Collection.

Mark was nice enough to let me have another 990 Legacy in absolutely perfect shape, it works fantastic with my Train Room Layouts.  Acquiring it at more than reasonable cost was one of the nicest thing that happened as we moved into our new home.

Jim Lawson generous as always, let me have some very early 1900's Lionel Tin Plate Rolling Stock, expanding my 817 Caboose Collection.  He further supplied some much needed early 800 series Gondola Cars and 2 real nice early Box Cars in different colors.

Thanks guys I will always remember your kindness.

More than 20 big heavy Tin Plate Cars, pulled by a TMCC JLC GG1, pushing an AF Mini Crane Car, on the over Head Ceiling FasTrack Layout. Controlled by the new 990 Legacy HHRC unit.

Some of the nice newly acquired rolling stock from Jim Lawson!  The old smaller 800 series original 806 Orange and Red Cattle Car, and the Semi gloss Red & Teal 807 Caboose. These are the original Lionel smaller  O Gauge Tin Plate Cars that the 2600 series was developed from.  These will fit right in with the 259E work Train Consist

The newly acquired Gondola Cars and 1 of the Furniture Box Cars.

The original Teal and Orange Box Car below toward the far right corner needs to be polished up, however it is a very nice Car.  Both the 817 Cabeese are the old Flat Green with Dark Green Roof Cars, one is now on the over head FasTrack layout, the other needs to be repainted and is in the Back Shop awaiting my attention.  The 249ERR will have a 9 or 10 Car, 817 Caboose Consist, when the rest of the Train Room is finalized.  The 2 Gondola's are seriously nice, one Jim refurbished in the high gloss Light Green with Black Frame, the other is the old original Lionel Dark Green with Black Frame, both look cool just as they are now.

You can see both Legacy Boxes in the picture above, I did simply change the 2nd units Base Channel to 3 Blinks, and everything works perfectly, running my original as the operating unit, and the 2nd Legacy unit as simply a charger.

Great post, great friends in the hobby are so valuable, beyond money. If I were guessing, all of us that have layouts, have needed friends for help in building, wiring, and most importantly, Ideas on simply how to improve our scenic effects. Yes, Mark Boyce, and Jim Larson are always positive and are great folks of this forum. I like your layout and ideas. Keep the pictures coming. Happy Rsilroading. Your Tennessee Connection.

Dave, thanks for the kind words. It’s nice to know that the cars I sent you are going to be on display as if I had kept them, they would have remained in my things to do box for a long time. Again, it’s nice to see them on display.

Hopefully, someday I will get to the Pittsburgh area and if I do I would love to stop and see your train room. Also you are invited to come see my train room anytime you’re in the New Hampshire area.  It is in the walk out area of my basement and I built it to look like a turn of the century small train depot.

Jim, now I know that O Gauge Jim is Jim Lawson!  Those are nice cars you sent Dave!!

GV & LL,

Thanks for the nice comments!   I really appreciate it very much.

Jim L,

You are sure welcome to visit and run Trains any time you can make it.  I will definitely stop in if I get back to NH to hunt Grouse again.   I cleaned up the all the 800 series rolling stock, except the one Green on Green 817 Caboose with the Orange Window Trimming.  It needed a serious upgrade, the paint had been damaged so badly.  I totally stripped the body clean today.  It will get a Rustolum undercoat and will be final painted, Rostolum high gloss Black & Gold, leaving the original Orange Widow Block Trimming.  Got to have a Pittsburgh Steelers  817 for the Caboose Consist.

Mark B,

We will get together and have Bruch again real soon, you are welcome to come by and visit the Train Room when ever you have time.  The Legacy you supplied works perfectly.
