I had placed a post on the WTB forum for paperwork for a Lionel C & O streamlined Hudson for a friend who found the engine at York but did not have the paperwork. My friend recently lost his dad and had many great memories wandering around the halls of York with him looking for treasures. His dad would have done anything for anyone as well. Marty, you made his day when you gave up your paperwork to send to him. To him, the set is now complete. Many, many thanks!

Marty, your personal record has been awarded ten merits for exceptional assistance to fellow O-gauge model railroaders.
I am not one bit surprised. Marty is a real treasure in our hobby.
Marty is one of the best!

Marty is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I've learned so much from him and whenever anyone's asks him for help he's always there. I'm honored to be great friends with him.

As I under from a friend of mine here on the form that knows Marty ......
Marty goes out of his way to help people out.
Congratulations Marty!
A great guy. He'll give you the shirt off his back, so don't ask in the winter, it's cold up there in Boston! Someday he's going to want me to return all the favors he's done for me, I'm not sure I can manage it!
Nice ride George.
Marty is a certified good guy!
I doubt if he remembers me calling him a couple of years ago about a train problem. He diagnosed it correctly and we went on to talk for at least hour covering many topics. He's quite a guy.
That is what this hobby is all about. That one small gesture obviously meant the world to Larry's friend, and I'm sure he will never forget it and will no doubt "pay it forward."
Marty, I hope to meet you one day and shake your hand. Next time you're in Portland, do look us up.

Sorry, guys. But I have to disagree with some of you. Marty is NOT "one of the best."
Simply stated, Marty IS THE BEST! Period. Marty is also one of the best friends a guy can have. Dotty and Ralph (Marty's cat) are great too. Anyone who wants to disagree can let me know and I will sue him/her.

For nearly 10 years I was the product review editor for OGR -- a great gig that I couldn't have done without Marty's friendship and generosity. He always made time to open his layout to me for testing, and we discovered lots of stuff together, especially when TMCC and then DCS were new items on our test agenda. Thanks my friend, for being one of the most generous -- and knowledgeable -- guys in this hobby. And so glad you've found a true partner in Dottie!
Guys, I am honored by your kind words. The members of the OGR Forum are the best in the hobby. Two years ago when I found out I had prostate cancer very bad, it was the many ORR Forum friends that gave me the strength to fight on. I thank all of you very much. I realize many people on the forum pay bills by being in business and I do not want to take any work from the forum that they pay to advertise services. If I can help any member with something that cannot be obtained by an advertiser, I am happy to do so.
Larry, I am happy it worked out for your friend and he is happy. I learned early in life to help people if I could. All the kind words from the great people on this post are very important to me.
Thank you again,
Marty
How I missed this post....Duh
Marty is what I call a very special person. He's helped me so many times over the telephone. Many more times by email. Someday I hope to meet this very special person.
