Bill,
Wanted to let you know the final outcome on the Fully Rechargeable DCS Hand Held Remote Control (HHRC). 1st your Engineering Upgrade Package works like a million bucks. I simply let one of my 2 DCS Hand Held Remote Controls sit connected to the 6V Mini Battery when not in use. When the rechargeable batteries in HHRC that I am using, starts to let the Screen light get dim, I simply swap the remotes and start using the fully charged Hand Held Remote Control. I found the new Mini Duracell 6V Battery to be far superior to the original Mini Universal made 6V. Unfortunately I believed that the original Battery Tender Jr had failed, had it tested and was told that it was bad. So I purchased the new upgraded Battery Tender Jr. In reality the original Battery Tender Jr was not the problem, the old 6V Universal Battery could no longer be charged. The man testing the Battery Tender Jr failed to understand how to actually test it, the Tender was actually in perfect working order. The cool thing that came out of this Battery failure episode, was that now I have 2 Battery Tenders that operate perfectly and 2, 6V Mini Batteries for keeping my DCS hand held's fully charged, at all times.
Just a note for you, the Dellran 6V Battery Tender Jr has a safety shut off built into it, if the Battery it is connected to goes below 3 Volts, the Battery Tender Jr automatically shuts itself down, also in order to test the Battery Tender Jr to make sure it is in proper working order, it most be under load.
The fully rechargeable DCS Hand Held Remote Control package you engineered works perfectly. When you build and supply the rechargeable package I recommend you supply the new 6V Duracell Mini Battery with the package, and due away with the older 6V Universal Battery.
Thanks for everything buddy!
