Was late getting over to the track, so not the best.

thanks Steve, love to see her next time we get out there.
What a shame! Why did they put that d... diesel in front of that beautiful engine. For me, not even worth taking a photo or video. That's my take.

Well, for a few reasons; first being that diesel was part of the display, and second, that is PTC territory and THAT diesel is equipped with PTC!
You mean they could not put the diesel behind the tender?

Nope. Per operating rules, the PTC equipped unit MUST be in the lead position. Besides, if the diesel was behind the 3751, then its brakes would have been cut-out, thus nullifying PTC anyway.
When operating 19th Century technology in the 21st Century, adjustments must be made!
Nice video. I didn't mind the diesel but the guy to the left front did his best to ruin the shot. Typical.
Thanks for sharing. It's great to see this beautiful locomotive under steam again.
What was also nice, was they had the diesel in dynamic brake, so 3751 could sound nice shoving it.
What's with all the foamers standing on the tracks??
Fireman had a nice clean stack there.

Southern California, never know WHAT to expect "on the tracks".

I'm just happy to see her operating again.
The foamers were standing on the leads to the 2 storage tracks where the cabooses and passenger cars are stored. Keep in mind, the display was BNSF, 3751 and Amtrak, if it wasn't for the 2 railroads, the 3751 wouldn't have been there, bottom line $$$. Good audio on the video.
