I'll post updates on You tube. Here is the first one I put on there.

Very cool easier to view
Blue,
How did you get it like that?
Very cool. Any idea on how you will model the Lake Shore Electric catenary?
I'm in the initial stages of doing a fictitious Kelly's Island switching layout and want to electrify it to run some leased PRR BBs.
Rob,
Artistic license on the overhead for the LSE. Over the years I have run across poles at various shows and a fella named Jim Rivers is a friend of mine who makes great traction parts. So it will be a conglomerate. And that's years down the road. The backdrops and mainlines will all have to be finished. You see, the LSE trackage will mostly be toward the front so there is easy access to the overhead for soldering and repair. I don't want to be reaching over the lines to finish other items.
What I need are some dimensions for the Ceylon station out near Sandusky. I can find pics, but no measurements. I know the shape of the building changed over the years but again... artistic license.
Thought with "Ironton" in the name it might model Henty and Edsel Ford's "toy" railroad, the D,T, and Ironton, with a fleet of Russian decapods, but l guess not. Any connection with the Lakeside and Marblehead, and its McKeen?
I'm hoping this has plans for sort of prototypical operations.
yes it does. As a matter of fact I originally designed as a point to point. A few members of the local club I am in convinced me to put in some return loops for continuous "beer drinking" runs. It takes about 20 minutes to go from Cleveland to Ironton at about a 35mph scale speed. Throw some train building, car set outs and pick ups and I think your looking at hour long sessions to get from one end to the other.
Great project, it will certainly keep you busy. Hosting group operating sessions will be the big payoff for your construction efforts and those will keep you very busy long after construction is completed.
Do you have a track plan you can post?
Troy
Looks awesome. Keep posting pictures. Sent you an email on embedding videos into your posts. Hope that was what you were looking for

It's looking great, Troy!! 30x50 ft double deck. I just retired before the end of the year, but I wouldn't live long enough to fill that space. I have to hand it to you, you are really doing a great job!!! Qualifier, I don't have anyone local to help me, so I go it alone. Carpentry isn't one of my strong points. Yours looks good.
Very nice and an ambitious endeavor. Looking forward to additional updates.
Love the backdrops! The layout is looking great! Some very nice scenes.
thanks for posting,
Don
Thanks to all! Spent a while deciding to try and "blend" those upper supports into the backdrop or not. In the end, I went with emphasizing them instead. I went the route of giving them a raw steel look with fake rivets. Much easier than trying to work it into the backdrop. I'll put some photos in next time.
L I Train... I'll look for that email. I have no clue how to do that.
Testing the embed video....
Looks like it worked! Thanks L I Train!
