Is Burt Lancaster up in a switch tower or a signal tower? He even slides down the ladder like the acrobat he is! Trying to determine which tinplate MTH and original structure for toy trains is like what is seen in the film.

One of Tom's very favorite movies, Tom saw a pic of someone's STD. Gauge layout on the forum showing the MTH signal tower, and he said, "just like Burt Lancaster was in!"

I was at an airshow this past weekend with my WW2 Jeep supporting my living history group's display. There's usually a vendor selling models and such and he was there this year.

He had a Hobby Master Navy Stearman in 1.48 scale and only wanted $40 for it, new in the box (couldn't get that good deal anywhere on eBay, even without postage). Better still, it was in markings for 1943, the year my layout takes place:

Now, there's NO place to set it as if it's going to fly out. I've long toyed around with the idea of having a trainer plane belly-landed on the layout and I have a couple of spots I could do that at. I'd have yank the landing gear off and bend the props back (and probably hit the engine with a lot of excess 'oil') as those things would happen on a fixed-gear plane like that.

Or, as I despise whimsy on a layout, I might do nothing with it. At least I have a model that would look right for the layout and I can ponder what (if anything) to do with it as long as I want to.

So, anyway, it was a nice thing to find while I made the world safe for shave ice people:

So sorry, but what does this post have to do with my topic?  Did you post this in the wrong place, perhaps?
