Hey everyone. It's been awhile since I've posted, but I wanted to wait till things wrapped up on the layout. After 2 years of work, my O Gauge W&LE is finally finished. So here are some pictures of the last scenes that were completed.

Fantastic work. Looks like another candidate for the OGR Magazine.

great looking layout. the way the scenes blend into the backdrop really adds to the depth. needs a feature article done!
Beautiful; you should be very proud of your craftsmanship.
Thanks for sharing.
Very, very nice !!
Very nice. Could we see a track plan showing how big your layout is?
A1 job...looks like the real thing. fire up that video camera ! real cool..crj
A great, great layout!! I love your use of backdrops, extremely well done!

That's some mighty fine modeling! I particularly enjoyed the shot of the SW9's blasting out of the carpal tunnel.

This really nice craftsmanship - do you have a track plan you can post?
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I do not have a track plan unfortunately that I can put on here. The layout was featured in the April/May issue of OGR and was the main feature. There is a track plan in the article. However, since that was done, the unfinished section is now finished and the track in that area has changed a bit. I am going to paste a video I have on my YouTube account I just made today of a tour of the railroad via a GoPro camera. I hope you enjoy. The layout isn't nearly as big as I am sure some will find out.
Sorry, here it is...
I'm starting a layout now, and wondering what is your railhead height above the floor.
CRC,
The track is 5 feet off the ground. Bench work is 4 foot, with 10 inches of foam board on top of plywood base. This allows me to "Sculpt" each scene.
Beautiful layout. Nice broad curves, outstanding scenery.
Beautiful work, Jason!!
That was quite a ride on the GoPro. I liked the view going through the truss bridge.
Thank you.
Jason,
Excellent as usual. Wondering what process you used to rust the rails. I tried one of those Testor FX pens, but it seemed a bit much. I like a more subdued look. Thanks.
Very nice!
Dave
Beautiful work. The scenery details are really nice. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Looks great!
Very nice work!!!
Wheeling,
Thanks for the ride, a great layout no doubt about it! Also my brother Kurt is a Corp Buyer/MGR in the 84 head shed, 84 Lumber, the shipping docks will be right up his alley! Fantastic stuff.

Chasing the WE213 on the O Gauge W&LE.

The track is painted before I installed it on the layout with Track Weathering markers by Floquil. Once on the layout and ballasted, I then use weathering powders with a dry brush and weather the appropriate colors onto the tracks. Once that is completed, I go back and spray everything with Testor's dullcoate. the track is then lightly sanded to remove paint from the tops of rails and it's done.

Jason,
Appreciate the info. Looks like I'm on the same page. I just finished painting the track, will ballast and then was going to dry brush rust onto the rails. Thanks again.

Simply outstanding! And the fact you got it done in 2 years makes it even more impressive!
First rate modeling! Your layout should be in Model Railroader or Model Railroad Craftsmen. Perfect weathering on the locos and cars, not to mention the structures. The Warren truss bridge is outstanding...
This layout is breathtaking. The scenes are just fantastic. You did a great job on this layout. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Wow. It looks great. Super detailed and complete. Really fantastic.
But you say its done. My condolences - what are you going to do for fun, now?
That is a top notch job Jason. Congratulations.
Really nice. I really appreciate your attention to detail. The field when the engine first comes out of the tunnel to the right is outstanding.
Excellent job! Very realistic! Thanks for sharing! Tom
Don't know how i missed this thread. What a beautiful layout so nicely done, everything from the streets to the buildings to the ground cover and trees look so realistic.
SIMPLY OUTSTANDING
Thanks,
Alex
