Hi Everyone,

First, Happy Holidays to all.

Would anyone have information on a Conrail TV (intermodal) train that ran from the midwest (maybe Chicago?) to Newark, New Jersey with two Gunderson 89' stock cars?

The time frame would be late 80s to early 90s.

This is not a mis-type - Two stock cars were cut in behind the locomotives ahead of the intermodal cars.

Several years ago, while viewing a railroad book at a B&N bookstore, there was a picture of the stockcars (placed behind the Conrail engines) being loaded with livestock.

The stock cars were delivered to a slaughterhouse in Newark and I would assume that the rest of the train went to Port Elizabeth or Oak Island yard.

I have never been able to find that book again, but this is something that I've always been curious about.

Any info. is welcome.

Many thanks.
