Just purchased an early TMCC F-3 from one of the big retailers. Was listed as functional. Light is on but can't program. I remember that these can be reset by inputting the number + set and then AUX1+18  but I may be wrong.  The unit will not run in conventional either. So, before I send back, I thought I would try reset.  Thanks for your help. Art

What is the item number?  6-Number.

Here is the procedure.  The code for your engine is "6"

To use these codes, you must follow these steps:
• With the engine on the track and the PROG/RUN switch in the program position. Turn the track power on to 18 volts.
• On the Cab-1 hand held remote press ENG + # # + SET + ENG + # # + AUX1 + Program Code (see below)
• Take the engine off the track and slide the switch back to run, leave it sit for about 30 seconds.
• Place the engine back on the track, address the appropriate engine number and you’re ready to run.

Insert these numbers in the space for "Program Code" in the Cab-1 sequence above.

One thing that sings like a choir is you tried it in conventional and nothing happened. Did you turn off your command base before attempting to run in conventional? ….If not, the locomotive will only wake up waiting for a TMCC command. If you did turn off your base, and it still will not operate in conventional, something else is wrong here, …I don’t care how many buttons you push, reset, change, whatever, if it’s dead in conventional, there’s another problem. These older Pulmor equipped locomotives are notorious for having the grease turn to concrete. ….I’d put the remote down for the moment, and concentrate on getting her to run in conventional first……might need to service the old gals before running them ……Or contact your seller, and see what the deal is, ……

Pat

* also note, where’s the RUN/PGM switch? ….it should be in run for conventional.
