As always, very nice!
I salute you.
Great modeling, Lee.
...and nice choice of theater name. The Luxor was my neighborhood theater (170th St) back in the Bronx of my youth.

Fantastic, you are a true craftsman.
Very nice Lee......the art deco era is one of my favorites!
Alan
Superb modeling, that captures your theme and the era.
Bee-Yew-Tee-Full, Lee!
That came out so nice Lee. I like the entire area with the crowds on the street and cars whizzing by on the Superstreets. A very complete scene.
Now we are talking artistry here. Beautiful. Keep going Lee.....
WOW.....fantastic work as always! I plan on having a theater too and mine will be Deco design. I don't think you need any building hints....but in place of spackle have you ever used Gesso paste? It's a little easier to use and apply, easy to tint and can be sculpted to a degree.
Wow. That looks terrific. You are really very talented and creative.

Thanks. I've never used Gesso - did not know it could be sculpted a bit. Might have to try that: a definite advantage. I've been using pink-dries-to-white quick-drying spackling paste because when applied thin it dries and hardens and can be sanded in about 10 minutes and it washes off so easily.
Lee,
Very nice design and installation.
Your creations are the perfect antidotes for the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Lee, I can't believe you're always topping yourself! That's just fantastic.
A person just has to smile looking at your work and reading your descriptions.
As always , nice work.

Just fantastic.
BTW in the 1st photo, is that a 1954 (maybe '53) Pontiac? Been looking for one for over 10 years!!!!! Need one as a reminder of my Dad on my layout.
Thanks and keep up the great work

It's a 1954 Pontiac Chieftain. I think it was made by American Excellence. Pretty expensive - around $55-$70 even at discount, but they make best detailed, nice looking model cars I've seen.
Great job!
Spence said it great. What a CRAFTSMAN you are! I'm always learning from your posts and amazed at the work you are capable of. Each project seems to surpass the last. Thanks for sharing, Terry
Lee, you definetly nailed the art deco theme. Very nice work indeed.
Well done!
Peter
Lee
Thanks for the info re the Pontiac. Just placed the order. Now every time I see it on the layout, I'll remember my dad.
Thanks again

Glad to help. My Dad had one, too - although it was a white coupe, this is the closest I've found to it.
Amazing work. I don't know if I am inspired or discouraged by seeing this and looking at my total lack of talent. Would like to see a photo spread of Lee's layout in OGR some day.
Endless, What can I say? except, very very very nice.

No - not going to happen. I have about a million words in print right now - professionally. Every article, and all of my books, regardless of topic, was a lot of work to get completed. Doing an article or something in OGR or CTT is too much like work - a lot of working back and forth with the editors and all. Allan Miller is a good editor but honestly its just the same whether its OGR on my toy trains or the London University Press or CRC Press. I've received some e-mails along the same lines as your comment. I appreciate all the interest in my layout. So I plan to post a picture spread and discussion on my layout here, in the near future. I am flattered that so many people want more details on my layout. This way will be a lot quicker to do and more fun for all and save me (and Allan) a lot of work.
Very Nice work. Love the Art Deco theme
Very nicely done, Lee! I can just smell the popcorn!

Amazing, Art Deco design too.
Keep it fun enough for you, that you never stop.......please.
Any North by Northwest, Falling Water, or other similar Frank Lloyd Wright style buildings done, or in the works?
