Here it is guys, now I don't need any out side source of power to operate any of my Menards products. I do think a smoke unit will be attached someday. Bob

Thank you for the photos and video, Bob. I'm going to put this on my need to purchase list! We all know it's not prototypical, but, it looks like a fun structure to have on a layout! And apparently Tony Manero works there with Homer Simpson! lol

Menards missed the "meltdown" by not adding a fan driven smoke unit to the cooling tower!

Thanks for the pics and video, I was on the fence on this one but I think with a little work and yes a smoke unit it can be something very cool
I hate to play the devils advocate but that cooling tower is way way under scale. Here in northeast Ohio Perry and Davis bessie is visible from 15-20 miles away on a clear day. Nicke layout! Nick
It just seems that a turbine-generator building needs to be attached to resemble a model of a power plant. Of course, that would make the footprint of the model a fair amount larger.

Gonna grab one. Can always give it to some youngster for their Christmas Layout. That light show should be spectacular in a dark room!!

A scale cooling tower would consume my entire layout. One I drive by here in WV is HUGE......300' wide??? that's what....75 ft...twice plus my layout????
It's cool...just not for me.
Let's just say that artistic license was taken with this one. Yes the tower is way too small and I don't think any reactor buildings are wrapped with glass and not 10' of concrete.
Cool looking piece though. If you want the tower to smoke fill it with water and drop a piece of dry ice into it
Nice job Bob! sure looks like a great building! I also noticed someone has been adding land to there layout! LOL
Nuclear plant, or Studio 54?

It's BOTH!!! It's 2.....2.....2 structures in one.
(lets how many old guys we have)
Looks like locals are taking target practice on the Lionel Dome.
LOL!

I must reconsider. This is a must have for my Christmas tree layout!

Groovy man

Mike beat me to the punch Dad like he always does. I happened to noticed the grass was a different color green. So outward expansion has started. Must be you know of the next buildings that are coming down the pipeline so new land is being added again. ...............Paul

Actually, the mayor of Menardsville would not give them a building permit, so this one is on the other layout

Maybe 75 inches?
But your points are well taken - it's minuscule compared to even an academic reactor building.
Its not scale... Its not prototypical....
Who cares! It looks fun! Thanks for posting the video. I'm getting one!

As usual I was wrong.....my dyslexia kicked in and moved a decimal of my mind!!!
700 scale feet tall is still an issue!!

Dual use products are always of interest.

This is really different and great!!!! The lighting effect reminds me of the nuclear reactor in the bat cave.
I like it.

You may be correct on the size of the tower. My thoughts are this is a prototype Thorium powered reactor instead of a Plutonium or Uranium fueled unit, thus the smaller size.
