MANY THANKS TO ALAN FOR UPLOADING THE YOUTUBE FOR ME!!!!

The Videos below are of the model railroad club where I am a member.

Its really a lot more impressive in person, but its also a lot more decrepid in person...

Some of the steam engine sounds you hear were dubs of Soo Line Mikado 1003. Some of the clickety clack is what the layout really sounds like, but feel free to turn the sound off, I find it overwhelming everytime I watch the video. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 feet of track (pretty close to 6 scale miles.)

The track is mostly handlaid, with flex track being used in places to simplify installation. All the switches are handlaid.

Thanks for your response. Thats quite a long run you have since both levels are connected.

Yes, the whole layout is continuous. Its a point to point/double loop setup. I'll try to post a track plan to show all the levels.

I forgot to add one piece of information. In the video with the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha, the ruling grade is 1.5% and if memory serves, most cars (freight & passenger) weigh in close to 3 lbs.

Its really impressive watching the locomotives speed up and slow down on the grade from the chainage. I'll try to get video of that, too.
