This TW TrainWorx custom layout is the most extensive "electrical" layout the TW TrainWorx Traingineers have ever designed!

Our Traintastic Customer is a retired CSX executive and he was very specific in his desire for his layout to depict New Haven area and include track plan with; switches, signals, and initially wanted Cantenary RR! Chief Traingineer, Roger Farkash and East Coast Director, Mike Reagan combined their talents and provided an elaborate design (however... with no Cantenary wires, that would have been a nightmare with first de-railing or need to reach in to the Yard...)

Traintastic Layout Stats:

*87 Signals
*40 Switches
*50 Detection Rails
*25 Un-Couplers
*25 Power Blocks
* 3 Power Districts that each have 20 amps power
*Layout will run; Conventional, TMCC Legacy, and DCS
*Still waiting to hear from Traingineer George on how many feet of WIRE

Reagan has been in town assisting with the installation which will be finishing up today. Here are some photos from the installation and please check back as I will be posting videos and more pictures as I get them. Enjoy!

What does something like that cost -- ballpark?   A large range to protect the privacy of the buyer is obviously understandable.

The answer to your question "how much does it cost" has several variables to take into consideration so I'll boil it down to a simple formula to take into consideration about investing in a TW TrainWorx Custom Layout. Based on square footage, our low end price per sq. ft. is $350.00 and on the high end it can go up to $700/800 per square foot. It all depends on the size/shape/switches/signals/mountains/levels/custom models/scenery/finishes and location (in terms of installation expense. I can say, we've never had a client regret their investment and we've literally been told that the ROI is "longevity" in the sheer joy it gives our custom layout owner because he's finally... running his trains and playing on the RR rather than... working on the RR.

Also, we've had several customer's come back to us to enhance their layouts... again because the investment is worth it and they "want more"!

Thanks Ray,

Dorcie,

Great answer to Ray's question!!  I certainly believe that you have never had a dissatisfied customer.  Just looking at the progress and end photographs of some of your projects tells me you work with the customer throughout the project.  There are no surprises, except that it turns out better than the buyer hopes for.

Yes, this owner can certainly sit down and enjoy the layout as opposed to the tedious job of running a railroad when he was employed!!

I would definitely give you all a call and say, "this is what I'm looking for, amaze me.", and that would probably easily be the case. I would also say both Roger and Mike would take turns putting me in headlocks to keep me out of the way while they worked(just kidding).

Whenever I do get to the point where I'm calling, I know I will be far from disappointed, and very sure I'd be calling back for add-ons(provided there would be enough room in the house).
