Here's a clipping from this last Sunday's Syracuse NY Post Standard about the Howard Bendixen home.  This is the now famous house with an attic that was filled with vintage toys and antiques.  Howard was the original owner of the now famous "Quarter Million Dollar 400E State Set".  I found it to be interesting and thought you might too.

This is part of the rest of the story!

The article says Howard. I thought his first name was Henry.

I heard the story the house was left to a church and all the contents were left to the caretaker including the trains and furniture. The story goes the will was very explicit about the division of the assets. still the church sued for the contents. The case was dismissed and the caretaker ended up with what was rightfully left to him.

The contents of the house look beautiful. I can date the pool table to 1960 as it is a Brunswick Anniversary edition made in 1960 only. Edit. Upon research the table was made in 1946. The local poolroom had these tables and they always said they were made in 1960 and I believed that since 1968.

Some of the mansions on James Street were from a Montgomery Ward catalogue. Maybe, this house was one of these also.
