Last week I showed some photos of a "kitbashed" caboose to go with a "backwoods" style train of short, weathered cars. I spent this week creating some cars to go with it.
The four wheel style cars started life as part of the Lionel Kickapoo set:
I found a few nice logs as a load for an MTH skeleton log car:
Next, is one of those Kickapoo ore cars:
And a couple of Kickapoo gondolas:
It didn't take long for the MOW guys to fill them with junk:
A tank car made from a cut-down Lionel Scout-type single dome tanker. It is mounted on a cut-down flatcar with a new wood deck made from scale 2x6 planks:
A similar tank car based on a cut-down American Flyer tank car:
And since people kept asking to ride the caboose to see the countryside, we needed a passenger car to go with the freight cars. This is a cut down Lionel W&A General set car found in the junk box. The steps are from Lionel SP style cabooses and the railings are brass wire.
