When did Boy George start working for Lionel

i didn't  even bother clicking on it.

You must be real fun at parties!

For those wondering, I will post more information about the 'hotspot' mode at a later date after I get the iOS APP updates launched.

Thanks for tuning in!

Dave, so excited to see the hotspot! LC+ is what got me into the hobby and I’m glad I can soon use my iPad for the “older” LC engines. Bluetooth is what got me to buy two legacy engines this year as well. The tech makes it easy for me to come home and play with the trains before dinner and relax.

Thanks to you and the folks at Lionel for all the good work, and keep having fun! Happy Halloween!

Dave!  I'm surprised you think that train guys still get invited to parties!  How quaint!

Jon

I still get invited to plenty of parties, just not "those' kinds of parties.

Nothing personal against Dave but with all the issues with Lionel items delivered lately. Maybe taking things a bit more seriously would be a better approach.

Especially when you have customers that have had to return thousands of dollars of brand new products for repair.

The real joke is the QC sticker Lionel has been putting on the box.

Many of these trains are $1000+. This isn't Fisher Price $20 battery operated stuff.

Having said that. My Fisher Price stuff always worked correctly out of the box when I was a kid.

Maybe a hug would help Marty. As long as it's not at one of "those" parties lol!

I know. This is the OGR forum....think happy thoughts.......think happy thoughts........

Ryan and Dave Halloween Special

When I get home I pop into FB for a bit to see what's been going on. Yesterday was just one of those days which slowed me down getting to other things(FB and this forum as well). The highlight of seeing my 21 year old niece's very artistic pumpkins she had carved. She is an artist and that really showed. Heck, I didn't even get to continue some of the PRR research I have been working on.

Can't agree. There's always room for some humor. That's life - there are always problems, but that should never bring everything else to a halt. There are people who are hungry, but there should still be symphony orchestras. Etc. etc.

I really enjoyed the show. Dave was a hoot. The new availablity of cell phone control for the older LionChief engines was a highlight - really gives those an unexpected and major update. Basically the same as retrofitting Bluetooth control in older engines. Great stuff.

I agree with RickO.   These webcasts are well-intended, but Lionel could do a few things to improve them: 1) Pick up the pace.  These tend to drag on.;  2) humor is great, but act with a level of professionalism in your effort to sell $1,000++ products.  This shouldn't be like two high schoolers broadcasting from a basement; & 3) please find a way to work some close-ups in as you discuss each product.  Perhaps snag a coworker to actually hold & move the phone/camera instead of mounting it on a tripod.

To me, the cheese factor is part of the charm. And it was Halloween!!

Halloween or not... They are all like this.  I am sure the folks at MTH laugh out loud at these things.

Watched the first minute... my goodness.

I hope the Ursula portrayal doesn't jeopardize any future Disney products. That is something I did not need to see....

At least now I understand the Boy George comment.  (didn't occur to me the still pic advertisement was probably a previous Halloween to preserve the surprise  - so I was anticipating  Dracula and a pirate)

I don't know but I suspect working at Lionel these days involves long hours and a lot of stress.  Maybe having some fun with the show makes it a nice change of pace for Ryan and Dave while they share news with us.  I think there is at least a possibility they are doing it on their own time.  Higher production values, while desirable, take time and money - so the alternative may be no show at all.

Dave,

It was a good laugh, a bit like Mel Brooks and his brand of humor, wishing  you and Ryan continued success at Lionel.
