Some years ago a friend introduced me to Dante Stephenson, who operated a famous restaraunt in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Lesser known was that Dante was a collector of antique automobiles and passenger rail cars.
His collection included this beauty named "The Survivor" featured in Smithsonian and Forbes magazines:

When I visited "Down The Hatch" in 2009, Dante gave me this post card which tells a bit of the story of "The Survivor".

I learned yesterday that Dante Stephenson passed away last weekend after a battle with Cancer.
He was quite a one of a kind character and will be missed from the Atlanta restaurant and nightlife scene.
