Just had a weird thought today

Ok us Tinplate guys seem to take our collecting seriously , and we all love showing off something new and sharing experiences, add to that we all ( anyhow hope its not just me lol) love the thrill of the chase .

Anyhoo the idea goes something like this ... I am sure in our travels we all see stuff we like available for purchase or at auction that for whatever reason , too far , too expensive, not in exactly the condition I want ,whatever ... and we move on in search of the next "New thing"

And that "bargain " falls by the wayside , but what if it didnt ?

What if someone on this very forum can give it a good home or it is exactly what THEY were looking for , but did not find?

Case in point .. I came across this item today

(ebay link removed by forum software.....)

and I immediately thought of my US buddies here ... its prohibitive for me to buy due to postage and I dont have an "Erector" hard on as some might ...

I am however aware this idea might prove open to abuse , with members posting their OWN things for sale , but I would hope we are above that gents ( besides you can put it in the classies here instead !!! )

Is this viable ?

( I will point out I DID go thru the posting guidelines , and I think its ok? )

Apologies in advance if I HAVE messed up posting this , but I think it could be of value to the community and membership?

Nope...we are not going to have a thread where folks "locate" items and then post them here.  We have a for sale/trade category for a good reason and it is there for members to sell/trade what they own...not what they find on an auction site, at a garage sale, or whatever.  If you find something that you think another buddy would be interested in, then email or call them privately....our terms of service do not allow promotion of other sites nor direct links to them.  Topic closed.
