Nice! Hopefully I will have my A-B-A set next week.
Classic colors
Good for hauling a load of this.
Sweet!
Did you get both the A and B unit yesterday? I received only the A unit.
btw, don't worry, it's not really Pepto Bismol in color. Like Elliot said, the iPhone camera doesn't always capture true color. It's more of an orange.
Yeow ! I just saw the photos I took on my IPad and it is PINK. No way. I will repost. The loco is orange. I received the A and B. I have another A coming.

That's good. I was feeling bad for you there for a while.
I wonder why in the world would a IPhone turn the color orange to pink, I don't recall having that happen on pictures I have taken with my Cell Phone. Either way nice looking engine.
Isn't that BEAUTIFUL thanks Scott and for sharing this Scrapiron.
Are these still available to order?
Elliot
Aren't you a photographer ( Portraits a specialty )
Perfect for regular and 10-31 layouts! Too bad in the 1950's Lionel did not do one of these. It has the orange and cream......
"Eliot, aren't you a photographer?" . . . . . BluelineC4 (AKA Ben Fioriello)
I still am a photographer, Ben. I had just watched the Giants offensive line in the Cowboys game, and there were still tears in my eyes. The loco is orange !!!
Scrappy
Scrappy- probably the lighting. Take it outside and try again in natural light.
I'm with you on the Giants
Nice looking loco's- enjoy!
Ben connects with a jab!, Elliot's counter punching and even the pink F3 looks better than the Giants did.
Funny, it looks less pink on my home computer and more like Pepto on my work computer.

It happens. Took a picture of our cat the other day.
There you go, Ben
For those who want one, there is an A-B set left in 3 rail at this time. Otherwise, one can wait to see if mth or Lionel does it. I know I can't.
I have a smart phone that takes pictures. Doesn't mean I'm smart, and doesn't mean I'm a photographer. Just like there is a big difference between a truck driver and a guy with the keys to the truck.
Beautiful Engines!

Can the couplers be 3RScaled so the gap isn't so significant? Otherwise beautiful set!
2 Options:
1. Use the short dummy couplers included in the box.
2. Acquire 2R Kadee couplers and mounts for each unit for very close coupling.
Scott
All mine came with Kadee mounts
2R pilots and Kadee couplers.... there is no substitute! Even for Hi-Railers
These are from the 1st run.
That fioriello'ing the engines sure made a difference. They are beautiful
I just love these locos. The truth, ain't nothing in life perfect right out of the box. Not even me. I will mount the replacement pilot and Kadees for close coupling. Just wanted to show these off. These are the first F7's I have purchased from Third Rail and they are gorgeous.
Scrappy
I love mine and once I do the work to em, I will be supremely happy. I'm happy with em right now but once I make em mine they will be phenomenal.
3rd Rail is the BEST! My extra SF B units and GN units arrive on Monday and I can't wait.
My 3 rail SF ABBA F7 's arrive today. Which Kadee coupler should be used for very close coupling between the locomotives? From looking at the Kadee web page I suspect # 805 is appropriate. Am I correct?

Yes.
I got the 740's
740 or 805 will both work. I redrilled my Kadee brackets to move the couplers back further. I think some of the new brackets come pre-drilled with 2 sets of holes, at least some of them did.
I will probably try #805. Thanks guys for the help.
Bob
Here's what the Kadee brackets get you for spacing with an 805 or 740 coupler....
I wanted closer so I modified the bracket and drilled new holes further back and shaved down the draft gear to clear the trucks.
This is how close mine are now. The couplers do a bit of slack so there is room to stretch out just a bit for the curves.
WARNING: do NOT try this on 054 or smaller curves.
Now you're dancing with the Stars!
