If I'm not mistaken there was a series of the tobacco cars. The silly things are all highly prized by collectors. I must admit that the tobacco cars are attractive. The tobacco industry was and still is very big business.

It's a terrible thought for some. It will not be long until even the smoke fluid used in model trains will carry a health warning . And more than likely be banned in some states.

This ad was on the back cover of TIME Magazine 05/03/1963.

Through the years, Lionel and other manufacturers have produced a variety model train items marketed specifically to adults. Beer, Bourbon, Vodka? Not exactly children's beverages.

Lionel had a series of nine Tobacco Road cars back in the '70s. I'll admit, with the AG MSA, you'll never see the likes of these again. Not shown are the Beechnut and Camel Tobacco cars. They were licensed by R.J. Reynolds, and others.

Philip Morris never licensed their trademarks so....

It's a flat car with nine Snus containers on it. This car gets run along with a dozen of the Lionel Tobacco Road cars and 30 or so beer reefer cars. The last car in the consist is always the Lionel Graves Mortuary Supply boxcar.

Pointingking54 mentioned Railsounds. I smoked for 35 years before quitting, and the sound of me hacking my lungs out every morning before I quit would certainly be appropriate. It's almost 19 yrs. since I had my last smoke, and if I had all the money I had spent on cigarettes, I could probably afford any train I wanted.

Yeah, that ad was definitely aimed at kids.
