If you ever get to this part of Northern CA, please remember to try to visit the Timber Heritage Association. They have quite a collection of timber railroad equipment and the Samoa Cookhouse is quite a trip back in time. Here are a few shots of a recent visit:
The location used to be the end of the line for the Vance Lumber company- there is a roundhouse there too. Of course the cookhouse is all you can eat.
