Our Christmas tree is host to a carpet layout based on the "Christmas Wreath" track plan with two spur sidings added. Three THOMAS-series trains are ready to run: Thomas, James, and Percy. Each train includes a new loco-matching boxcar plus their  standard freight cars.  Our three great-grandkids know how to use the loco-matched hand-held controllers to run the trains along the Fasttrack railroad. Pix attached.

By intention, it's not a fancy layout. I consider it an "encore" railroad to my much larger home layout in the Train Room - a 15x19-feet L-shaped layout with trains, buildings, action accessories, figures, and automobiles.

Santa knows Christmas and toy trains go together like cookies and hot chocolate.

Nice, Berber Carpet is perfect for on the floor layouts! And who doesn't like Thomas the train and gang! :-)

The Xmas tree is up for 2021. After I added the expansions, the layout needs a new skirt, so the wife wanted to participate in Model Railroading and is working on that, should be done soon. :-) And I need to get to work on the scenery for the expansions!

Put on the new skirt that my lovely wife made, it looks great IMO! Daytime shot so it can be seen in all it's splendor. :-)

My Christmas train consist of custom loads that I have put together over the past few years.  I've added 4 new ones this year.   I'll have it running at our annual Christmas display ( except for last year)  in the Museum of Science and History in Jacksonville, Fl.  Our table display is approx.. 26'x 32'.

Our club is The Jacksonville Toy Train Collectors.

Built a custom Christmas 4’x6’ layout for my father-in-law, but keeping that under wraps for submission to OGRR mag!

Here’s our tree on a 4’x4’ table to keep it up away from the dog.  O31 inside with a mishmash of set pieces (Black River Freight, Great Western, and a lighted caboose from the 50’s).  O42 outside with LCCA table prize (2013 registration loco) pulling a couple MTH RailKing Christmas cars.  Fun thread!

We are not finished decorating the Christmas tree and the layout, but this is what we have so far. The layout is a 1950’s style layout, and I am running my first train set which I received from “Santa Claus” in 1956. It’s the 1615 switcher with wheel car, crane car, and work caboose. Hi Bob, PE around the tree, nice! I'll bet your fury friend was just a lot of help! Cats, they don't like it when you're doing stuff and get right in the middle of it, then when you pay attention to them they put their tail straight up and walk off!

Think the best purchase I made for this year's Christmas trains was a set of contractor's knee pads to wear while crawling around on wood floors setting things up!

Added a couple things and changed up the consists here and there this Christmas. Already trying to figure if I can somehow expand next

Yup......" contractor's  knee  pads "

Trying to figure out if you can somehow EXPAND next year ???

Now I've seen Christmas TURKEY .......and Christmas HAM...........but really....... Christmas Eve ROAST  BEEF  ?

............sounds really GOOD !

The Grinch:  "Then the Whos, young and old, will sit down to a feast. And they'll feast, and they'll feast. And they'll feast, feast, feast, feast! They'll feast on Who pudding and rare Who roast beast. Aw, roast beast is a feast I can't stand in the least!"

For many years, the tradition in our house has been to have a Christmas Eve Fest of Roast Beast (Beef), Hashbrowns, and Chocolate Who Pudding while watching the How the Grinch Stole Christmas Special Edition before going to services at church.

(On Christmas Day, we have either Duck and Turkey [odd years] or Lasagna [even years].)

Dallas, I keep looking at this and thinking, "Look at all that available space!" Needless to say, the Director of Decor in the house has final say and she has yet to be consulted…

I believe what happens in the home........ stays in the home..........however....

.........is there room for a second layer , maybe with just open trestles around the frontal areas allowing for a view of the lower action also ? 🤔

64 x 14 feet set up 12 trains running a the North Pole Express at Railway Museum of British Columbia. It took me 2 weeks to set up, it ran 4 weekends. Had the 2 Bluetooth LionChief engines on one end with instructions for folks to download the LionChief app to run these trains. The last part of the video shows a train that goes in a tunnel under a snow covered mountain and large village on top. The train you expect to come out of the other side of the mountain but it disappears for a while you can see behind where it does a loop before it comes out. The kids loved this feature! Often trying to look in the tunnel trying to figure out where the train had gone!
