Hi,

Planning a tinplate layout, about 9.5' x 4.5'.  I'd like to have a short trolley track, as illustrated.  Don't see any tin MTH/LCT trolleys (or small switcher) for back and forth on the short straight track in front of the inside loop(left out a piece of track, the straight track goes across the inside loop).  Any thoughts or recommendations?  Seems like there aren't a lot of tinplate small locos or trolleys, am I missing something?

Also, do you think the upper level will interfere with accessory viewing on the first level?  I plan on a grey carpet base.

Going to use RMT SuperSnap track for all.  I think the look will be just right for tinplate.

I just grabbed a Pride Lines tinplate trolley. Looks great but it's a little big compared to the rest of my tinplate gear. Still I think if I put it on a recessed 027 line with loops at each end in the back of the layout it should look pretty good.

But as Ed mentioned out options seem to be limitied, would be nice to see a MTH Tinplate trolley or hand truck

Both.  You can contact their US rep and he will get you a price.  There are also a few dealers in the US - you will have to check the Internet.

i met Gustav (owner of ETS) at Trainfest in Milwaukee last year - very nice guy.  If I remember correctly, he quoted me a price of $250 for a trolley shipped to the US.

I know they have a booth at York.

I have just finished making myself a trolley.   From a plan in the December 1948 issue of `Model Builder` magazine.    These old magazines were full of all sorts of plans for lineside accessories, and occasionally even locomotives.  my trolley is made from tinplate and powered with a Marx motor. `Model Builder` was published by Lionel.

Colin.

Hi Colin,

Can you post some pictures of your trolley, sounds interesting and I'd love to see it.

Thanks,
Sam

I've been talking to Gustav lately as I really like some of the pieces they make and his trolley's must have come way down in price, even the full starter kit is less then $200 but they don't have any US dealers.
