Hi Everyone,
I am rewiring my layout and I am creating a 2 x 4 panel to mount my TIU and both AIU'S Etc.
Any idea as to the size screws I would need for the the mounting. I see if you remove the 4 rubber
pads there are hole's for mounting.
Thanks

Mounting of TIUs and AIUs
I have mounted my TIUs and AIUs on panels as shown. I use 3/4 by 1-1/2 inch wood strips which allow mounting using #4x 3/4 inch roundhead wood screws. These wood strips allow a channel underneath which provides space for cables between units. As shown a power brick provides power to the TIU. Cables which interconnect the TIU and AIUs are routed in the channel underneath the TIU and AIU.
Pro Hobby,
Thank You I appreciate it.
Hi Pro Hobby,
If I do not use the wood strips can I just mount the units directly to the 2 X4?

Using the wood strips provides a nice way to route the cables between units. I recommend using them. The panels shown are available from Lowes. These panels are precut wooden shelves size 10 inches by 24 inches. The wood strips are also available as precut pieces and are 24 inches in length. All available at Lowes.
I build custom model railroad control systems similar to the equipment shown in the photo. You can contact me at the email address shown in the profile.
Ok I see what the strips do, it levels the units a little higher to allow the cables to run under the units.
Thanks.
I used long zip ties through four holes drilled in the board on which I mounted them, wrapping the tie around the TIU.
If I need to remove or move them, easy task to clip the two ties.

Here is another photo of one of my control boards containing a TIU and AIU. The wires from all 60 AIU terminals have been connected to terminal strips which are numbered and color coded.
Thanks for the replies and the photo's Pro Hobby, nice work
Can I ask where you acquired the large terminal strips?
