I was running a Legacy steam engine on my layout and had several MTH engines just sitting. Suddenly the Legacy stopped moving and all of the caboose lights and the like went dark. I have 3 areas on different circuits and 2 of them still had power.
When I looked, the input line from my Z 4000 to fixed input 2 had melted the little red terminal and really heated up the wire or the insulation showed signs of heat. I opened the TIU and all four fuses look good and saw no signs of damage anywhere but where the power comes into the Fixed 2. Just noticed that if I try to bypass the input on fixed 2 in, I get power but even though the WIU forms a network that shows up on my computer it does not communicate as I get the message wi-fi DCS app that the network cannot be found.
Any idea of what may have happened? No circuits breakers were thrown and there were no signs of any damage on the track.
Any ideas would be welcomed.
