I have a Z1000 connected to the FIXED VOLTAGE IN 1. The track is connect to FIXED (DCS) OUT1. But to get the red led to light & the train to run I need to connect the ground on  FIXED VOLTAGE IN 1 to the ground on VARIABLE VOLTAGE IN 1 &  connect a ground on FIXED (DCS) OUT1 to VARIABLE VOLTAGE (CONV/DCS) OUT 1 ! Help, whats going on? MONK The TIU is a REV 13 & a V 5.0

You are talking MTH engines correct? Have you tried running two jumpers to Fixed #2 Red and Black and then using the Fixed #2 output?

Your example seems to show the Fixed #1 common is no longer working in DCS mode. Is it passing voltage thru at all?

The fuse is blown on Fixed 1. Take to cover off, find the blown fuse, and replace in kind, 10A max. There are 4, all automotive type fuses.

To open it up, flip the TIU on its back and remove the 6 small screws. Then turn it over and lift the top off. There is a small board with a wire hanging off it. Do not disturb it, other than to make certain it is firmly seated! While you have the cover off, check the nuts on the back of the banana plugs and tighten as needed. They tend to get loose, which leads to problems later.
