i have two layouts both using a tiu.  I am using one remote.  I usually only have one on at a time, but I found out when I have both tiues powered up I cannot find any engines.  Everything else works great, track, accessories, and stitches.
When I use a tether cable on one tiu it works.  These two layouts are in different rooms, and the remote will only see the one close to it.  I am planning on a large layout with three tiues and would like to know if this is a problem.  I would assume the ground connected between them solves the problem.

Yep change the address of one of the TIU's and put both in super mode. ... now any engine will run anywhere on either layout.

I'm heading out the door but someone will get you fixed up.   Changing a tiu address can get tricky , You have to turn the power off one of the tius and then edi t the address of the other one.  Now add the tiu  that the power was off.   Verify .. with the read,,  ,Tiu 1 & 2 found) with aux box connected.

Go to TIU set up and put both in super.

Are you saying that you can runs locos that are sitting on the inactive list?  Your last post is confusing.

How far apart are the rooms?  If not adjacent, so you can stand in a doorway between them, next question is how are the house walls constructed?  If walls have wire mesh, remote-tiu comms can't pass.

With both TIUS powered up, and the internal LEDs lit, what does READ show for TIUs?

It is possible that there is an internal issue with the remote.  I had an antenna lead come unsoldered on one, and range was very short.
