Mike,

I have 2 older TIUs and wondered if there is any difference between them.
I3A and H1

The H1 is older and has a 3 volt processor. The I3a is newer with a 3 volt processor.

Also, some early I3a's required a modification to correct an all-channels low DCS signal strength factory defect. I3a's so modified have a "dot" next to the Rev. I3a on their bottom.

I3a's that never had the problem do not have a dot. If your I3a has signal strength of 10 on a short test track, it's fine and should stay that way. If your I3a is sound, I'd keep it and sell the H1.

This and a whole lot more is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!
