I have a problem with my Lionel TMCC F3 Santa Fe engine, when I power up the track it trips transformer. I just recently purchased this engine and ran it last night for the first time. The engine powered up and ran in forward with no problem, however when I put it in reverse and increased throttle it took off like a rocket. I used the emergency stop and reset power to track and it worked fine the first time I went to reverse. After going back to forward and then reverse again it took of like a rocket again. Turned off power again, reset track power and now it trips the transformer after 3 seconds. All my other engines are operating fine so I know it's not a track issue. I checked the trucks to see if there might have been something shorting the center rail but all was good. I removed the shell and checked for possible wires touching each other or ground but nothing obvious there. However, when I touched the DCDS Odyssy driver board and it felt extremely warm. I don't know if this is relevant to the engine reverse issue/tripping transformer, but, the smoke unit/fan did not operate either. Railsounds/coupler and lighting worked fine. Is it possible that the DCDS board has fried already? Or, is there another issue I should be looking at? Will the DCDS board being bad cause the smoke unit not to work? I am not familiar yet on how the TMCC system works in conjunction with the other functions, smoke Railsounds etc.. Has anyone had this issue and if so what was the culprit? The loco in question is the; Lionel 6-14536 F3 AA Santa Fe set W/ TMCC, Odyssy, Railsounds and Smoke. Thanks for any help you can give.
