(I'm using v1.52)  I recently had a Lionel Service Center employee advise me that a TMCC1 engine is best programmed (under the Engine Info->Control tab) as a CAB-1 control vs TMCC.  Results otherwise may not be completely predictable.  I was having Pantograph issues on a TMCC1 GG1 locomotive; one side would not raise and lower.  Sent the engine in and they did not see the problem.

The Legacy Control manual simply states that TMCC is a blend of CAB-1 with Legacy icons on the keyboard.  With advice like this from Lionel service, it makes me wonder the full extent of CAB-1 vs TMCC vs R100 differences when making these selections.

Does anyone have a complete explanation of what's the differences?  Has anyone seen similar problems?

I'm thinking the same thing as what you said.  However, this was their potential solution to my problem.  We'll see.

Might be off subject but anyways my problem running tmcc with legacy engines at same time is that legacy engines will speed up from toggling eng button between a tmcc eng and a legacy eng.  Can also happen when toggling from tmcc eng to tr function.

Say I have eng 1 and it is a tmcc.  Then I have eng 2 and it is legacy.

Then I have tr1 and it is legacy.

I have tmcc eng 1 up to my speed limit and legacy eng 2 up to its speed limit and finally tr1 legacy up to its speed limit.

If I hit eng1 then tr2 sometimes the tr2 will speed way up because the  tmcc eng1 graph displayed on the legacy controller is relatively higher than the legacy speed graph.
The look of the graphic speed display on tr2 changes from the legacy look to the cab1 mode look also-doesn't have the broken lines.

It just acts like the cab2 forgets the eng2 or tr1 are legacy and revert them to tmcc like a software issue.  I have version 1.52, has always done it on all versions.

Hope this made some sense.
