Gee, I didn't realize that MTH has not offered a Christmas diesel!  Kind of surprising.  I would think they would probably sell quite well since Christmas trains have really developed a following of their own in recent years.  And the PS3 feature would be great to have for smooth, slow running rather than have the things zip around the tree at breakneck speeds.  I'm operating two MTH/LCT tinplate Christmas trains around my tree this year, and I really enjoy seeing them move along at a realistic pace.

I'm surprised - this seems like a natural for MTH.  Me - I am running MTH around the living room by the Christmas tree.  Right now, have Railking Wabash Heritage diesel going - great sounds and tons of smoke (can't keep that going for long!).  Fireplace also on and soon a little Rat Pack Christmas music.  Glass of chardonnay too - life is good!

I remember seeing those Diesels in the 2004 Catalog.  IMHO, a Christmas diesel is long overdue!  If, Mike reads this post, I would like to add a corollary to this request.  Please also consider doing a few Christmas excursion trains based on the real life excursions.  For me, that would be the SP&S 700 out of Portland, OR.  Don’t change anything to the paint or configuration of the engine, just add a lighted Christmas wreath on the front, and Christmas lights around the engine and tender.  You could also add a set of cars based on already produced models, just add lights and decorations on the inside and/or outside.  My current Christmas train is a Western Pacific G-2 pulling a number of MTH yearly Christmas cars.  I would buy a SP&S Christmas excursion set in a heartbeat to augment this!  A quick internet search for Christmas excursion trains will show you the potential for both Diesel and Steam across the country.    Hmmm, Dear Santa…

That's likely the case.  BUT, I also feel that Christmas items are, for the most part, the kinds of things most people don't give a thought to pre-ordering because they just pretty much assume that the item will be made and be available.

Please!

That is the best idea I have heard in a long time.

MTH's Nativity series of box cars are hands down the best looking Christmas cars ever produced. They do deserve a locomotive and caboose designed to compliment these cars and not some silly nilly paint scheme!
