Great job you were lucky to find this toy. I had a similar toy many years back it was a long time ago that that toy came out and I have done the same as you using a Lionel Chief switcher. It is very popular at train shows with Thomas Percy James and other engines along with Toby I have the LionChief controls set up on the fence and the kids control the trains. Here is Toby same as yours running on the left track in this photo. Wish Lionel would make more of the Thomas friends engines.
