Congrats, Art........I'm just about 5 months behind you!
Peter
Welcome aboard, it's not that bad!
Brad
Yes, congratulations as you move toward the "old phart" class. Best wishes for good health and trouble-free railroading.
Art, I continue to run away from that label. And I have yet to have anybody refer to me as such. So, @70, and the only guy in the neighborhood who "still plays with trains," you can appreciate that I allow for a certain amount of fantasy in my life.
Oh, by the way, I must admit, I recognized a getting-older (or is it rounder?) milestone when a colleague asked me, some years ago, to play Santa in our high school's Holiday pageant. I suspect never being shy to have a bowl of ice cream or eat the lion's-share of a pizza may have had something to do with my being asked. I declined to play the part, you can be sure, but I knew it was "a moment" in life for me.
Actually, I did have a sort-of "senior moment" a couple days ago while working on decorations at the altar in or church. I dropped something, and a young(er) woman immediately (in a split-second) dropped down to pick it up for me, saying, "Here you are , sir." That reminded me of the commercial from several years ago when I guy who still fancied himself young was addressed at a traffic light by two women in a top-down sports car by , "Please, sir..."
Life goes onward, doesn't it. Congratulations on your mature approach to being a "senior."

Practice this phrase: "Where's my discount?"
I'm old but I try to compensate by being very immature.

Yeah, my wife tells me, "You don't act 70, and you don't look it at all." I am vain enough to believer her; plus, she never lies.
FrankM
I doubt I'll ever act my age, why would you want to do that?
Happy Birthday and welcome to the club. Rank does have it's privileges.
It's all in how you look at it. When I turned 62 a while back I told everyone I had just turned 31, for the second time!
Have fun with those trains.
Thanks guys, I still feel like I'm 30 and I still get carded when I ask for senior discount
Art
Congratulations, It won't be long before you will be saying, How did I ever have time to go to Work.
Congratulations, I'm right behind you. Will be joining you tomorrow. However, I'm not planning on acting my age anytime soon (well maybe only when walking or certain other movements).
Welcome aboard!!!
Alan
Hey there, Happy Birthday. In another 15 years you can join me as an "OLD PHART".
Welcome to a great time of life. A friend of mine mentioned "work" the other day and I told him I stopped using 4 letter words years ago, life GREAT
Brent
Congratulations! Next milestone is getting the "unsolicited" senior discount. Then you know you have arrived.
Happy Birthday and congratulations Art

AGE IS MOSTLY A MATTER OF MIND. IF YOU DON'T MIND, IT WON'T MATTER!
Pete
By some measures (discounts offered) you became a senior citizen seven or twelve years ago; by others, you still have three or eight years to go.
Art,
Congrats on making it, and welcome to the biggest train club on earth!

most places feel 65 is senior.
I will not call myself senior until I'm in my 80's.
The good news is...you made it!
Congrats, Art! I'm four years away.

Congratulations too Art! I am with Jeff, a little less thn 4 years!
I'm 72 and I still don't like to think of myself as a senior. I feel like one in the joints, but my mind doesn't want to go along yet.
