Best $200 I ever spent.

Wait until he slips and steps on it! My 10 year old grandson will occasionally chase them around too, it takes a while for kids to grow out of it.
What a great joy! It's so important to develop a bond when they are young. Trains are a great connection.
Should have put it in reverse a couple of times to test his stopping ability. Neat video.
Wait until you try the figure eight.
You'll notice I try to keep the engine in front or behind him so that it won't come under foot. Still though, I may just use the $50 engine next time.
I figured sooner or later he'd trip over it. Glad all are OK after the experience.
I have done the same thing with my kids. My oldest slipped and fell on my MTH PS-1 Rail King Dreyfuss Hudson. Broke a connecting rod, and popped the truck mounts off of the tender frame. Was able to get a new connecting rod, but it was too old for them to have any more tender frames. So I went with a longer screw and a washer and got it back together. Still runs like a top.
And no that didn't learn me, as years later after I got my VL BB, I had it running on the floor as my 2nd son chased it around. He never fell on it, so I guess he was more sure footed. If you search, you should be able to find videos I posted of the race.
If I had the room in my back yard (It's way too small to do this.) I'd put in a G gauge railroad so the kids could race it outside.
