I recall reading many months ago about Lionel's new theater car which will feature a video camera and transmitter. It was scheduled to be released this Fall but has since been delayed due to FCC testing and approval, are there dealers who are offering preorders for it at the normally discounted preorder prices? If so, which dealers?

Yep, but I'm sure the big dealers ordered extras so you still may be able to get one.
That ship sailed months ago. We are already on the next catalog for preorders, which end in a week or two. At this point you'll be lucky if you can pin one down from dealer's stock. I'd start calling now to try and reserve one. Start with the big dealers.
If you want the hot new products at the best prices, you've got to stay on top of this stuff.

Relax. Most of the large dealers will have plenty of "extra product" enroute to their store once these cars are shipped from the Chineese factory. Charlie Ro has them listed for $245, which I think is darn close to -- if not the same as -- his original pre-order price.
Nothing to worry about.

You might try the SEARCH feature, here on the OGR Forum, as there was a lengthy thread/discussion about this car, including some nice responses from the folks at Lionel.

Paul, it was one or two catalogs ago. I only wish Lionel would have offered the feature in their former 18" line of passenger cars though. 21" cars are too large for most folks and their modest sized layouts. But right now everyone is enamored with them, because that's what Lionel is selling.

At least your not the only one. I want 18" cars back too.
Like others have said, call around. I suspect a few of the forum sponsors ordered extra of these knowing they'd be in high demand. Some of them are pretty bright at anticipating demand and adjust accordingly.
