Kinda in a rut here.  I've been building a large foam mountain range on my layout for about a month.  I have 3 main lines, all of which intersect the mountain in some way.  I've been trying to take my time but I realized that I haven't been able to run trains at all.  I think I am missing out on the best part of this hobby.  Has anyone else been in the spot before?

Yes, I was in a rut of sorts.  First, there were things that bothered me so much about my scenic short falls that I did not run trains for a while and then other very good things in life popped up, a new grandson.  Then I recently got the train bug again and started rather aggressively on a redo.  But like you, it looks like I have too much to do and I wonder if I will ever run trains in the next month!  I think I will choose to complete things in key areas first now that I am in the scenic phase so I can run trains on a main line, and work on the other areas a little at a time.  In short, I feel your pain.

I'm running a double mainline through a mountain. Because of weird spacing for my layout and time restraints being a Dad I'm not sure I will see a full run for at least 5-6 months. Fortunately I love track and scenery and so am focusing on trying to enjoy every moment that I am building listening to my favorite music!

Sure. Mostly it is weather related like now when it is so cold and we have had a recent abundance of snow (like today, another foot) when it is impractical to go out to the train room.

Don't get down, take a break and run your trains. Building a mountain is a lot of fun as well, so enjoy the experience. We also have one of these to build.
