Tool car - what's the trick? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a Lionel tool car # 16802 that I plan to repaint. What is the trick to getting this car apart? The roof appears to be connected to the front and back walls, but not to the sides. I don't see any obvious screws or tabs.

Under each truck, you should find a hole. A Phillips Screwdriver will take out

the screws holding the car together.

In front of each truck is a single hole...turn the truck full lock over and you can fit a phillips in there at a slight angle. The roof and ends come off together leaving the sides and bottom.
