Just saw this on the local paper's website. The article says it's going to be sponsored by a local manufacturer - Harley Davidson? Anyway, I just thought some of you guys might find it interesting.

Thanks for posting it.
Maybe they'll just name it "Orange Hall" in honor of the TCA.

You mean those signs aren't hanging on the buildings year round?!
-Dave
I don't care what they rename it as long as it is filled with trains twice a year in mid April and mid October.
I can see it now...
Rapa Scrapple Arena
Andy
Whaddaya mean, twice a year?...I thought this show was going to be quarterly starting
in July?? (however, it is nice that it is a local mfr. and that we still make something in
America)

I'd vote for that.

More like the Orange and Black Hall..

potato, potato, potato, potato, potato, potato, potato, potato . . . .
It's all about the money, guys. That's why we have pro sports arenas with funky names honoring "Uncle Pennybags'" firms and not famous/local sports heroes.....maybe with the exception of Curly Lambeau's honorary arena in GB, WI, and a precious few others.
Money, money, money.....it talks.
But, hey, I'd rather have an iconic US sponsor like Harley Davidson than Toyota....or Sanda Kan!!!
Utz (the snack company) is the new sponsor, according to news snippets I've seen on the Internet.
I guess to us toy train enthusiasts, it will always be the Orange Hall.
David
Another announcement.
I would have preferred "Harley" over "Utz" (which is kind of a dumb-sounding name although some of their products are pretty good).
I wonder if Sunkist knew this was available?
I wanted York barbells so I can pick things up and put them down.
Not to hijack the thread', the Utz girl is tied to Mr. Boh in Baltimore advertising. Perhaps one of the train manufactures will jump on this and we'll have an UTZ Potato Chip Boxcar to go with the Natty Boh cars!

I was thinking the same thing. I would love to see MTH offer a Premier Utz boxcar as a York-only offering (in addition to their regular meet boxcars) in honor of the hall being re-named. They could even do two road numbers (I know that I'd buy both).
Andy
Andy & Jim sr.
Your esp was working. Front page of the York Dispatch says Utz arena is here.
Jim
Along with a boxcar, I'd like to see an Utz delivery stepvan (or Divco).
Art
I would buy a Utz divco in a heartbeat. The boxcar also.
Jim.
I didn't see bills thread on the Utz arena. Thought I was telling something new. Not the first time in my life being late with something.
Jim
They have it all wrong! I propose the new name to be "The Eddie g arena"
I love the new name--Utz Arena! This past April York show I once again visited the Utz factory store in Hanover and ended up taking home more pretzels than trains. I consider that a successful show and the grandkids are happy with all the snacks!

Gee, would she be Utz-Boh or Boh-Utz?
Be aware that the link to ydr.com in the OP's post will set 23 COOKIES on your computer! This is a new trend on the internet...everybody is tracking everything these days.
No thanks. Too much of an invasion of privacy. I rejected them all and moved on...
It just had to be posted here.

free bag of chips to the first 10,000 to get their badges for the Fall -2013 York meet
My cookies are turned off.
Now, what about them chips? How big of a bag is it? Is there dip?
Rick
Normally, I don't worry about cookies.
For those that do, there are a number of freeware products that will clean them off your computer. Some of them are even smart enough to keep track of the cookies you want, and leave them alone.
Your ISP is probably capturing information about the sites you visit and selling the information. (My friend, who is in the business, confirmed that his company does) I find that once I look at a product on line, for weeks afterward I get ads focused on that particular item, or like ones.
Most of the Android applications I've looked at state that they have the rights to identify your phone number, monitor your calls, and look at your address book.
Big Brother is here, and it isn't necessarily the government.
I was a Sales Director for an online marketing company that developed websites.....All online search engines, at least the major ones, track where you go and what you visit. Using Google as an example, the next time you see an ad pop up similar to C.W. Burfle's example above, take a look at the ad. You will see on the ad in small letters "Ad Choices". Many folks don't notice it and those that do think it is the name of the company that produced the ad...BUT...that is not the case. Click on it and it will take you to your personal page that Google has on you. This page will show what you have been looking at on the web...with the exception of "certain" sites which are not supposed to be tracked and reported...yeah right! Big Bro is here folks!
Alan
Big Brother has been here for a long time, and he's continually getting bigger.
Check today's national news re: your government and Verizon (and perhaps others).
I wonder if there's a way we at OGR can track how many hours a day model railroaders operate their trains, which new train items they buy, and where they buy them from?
Sure you can, for a price.
By the sound of things we would have more privacy talking on TV, or the radio then the internet.
Of course if you really wont to shake off the big seeing eye we can all go back to postal mail.
Just read today that both front and back envelope of all mail is being tracked also. I guess they scan it somehow and put it in some database somewhere. Maybe we have to go back to tin cans and string like when we were kids:>)
Next year I am going to submit my $1 bid to rename the building "Farmer Bill's Semi-Annual Playground"
WELL, has it been re-named yet? OH YES, by the way it's 97 day's till YORK week.
I think it is UTZ now not Harley.
The memories of going to Cross Street Market on Fridays with the empty Utz can to have it filled with another weeks worth of the greatest chips ever made.
I don't care what they name it, it's always been just the Orange Hall to me lol!
