I checked previous posts and couldn't find anything on this.  I need traction tires for my recently acquired Weaver brass GG1.  The driver diameter is 1.13" (about 1-1/8") and the groove is 1.03"-1.06" (roughly 1-1/32" to 1-1/16").  Weaver is out of their traction tires.  Will the Lionel 242-206 steam engine tire fit or is there another one that can be used?  Also, do you have to dismantle the trucks to install them? Thanks in advance.

I would do a search on Lionel website.  It will show a picture, but more importantly give you the dimensions.  I found a suitable replacement for Williams Brass this way.  It is a very narrow tire, which even Weaver doesn't use anymore when they took over the brass line from Williams.

I can't answer access question, do you have room to slip the tires on?  Do you have access to remove the side frames with out removing truck?  G

There's been several past posts that are supportive of Bull Frog Snot,a traction tire goop that's applied to the grooved area of engine drive wheels...all scales, all sizes, all types.  This seems to be the 'joker' in the deck of traction tiredom.  Available through Walthers and their dealers, direct, et al.

FWIW.
