Traction tires on my Yellowstone | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I am having troubles putting on traction tires on my Missabe Yellowstone. I got two on, and broke/tore my third one and now I am running low on replacements! Are there any tips out there to get them on easier? I have been using two small flat blade screwdrivers, but wish I at least had a third hand. I found out I could unscrew the screw and slightly lift the rod to slip the tires on and off, I hope that is OK. Also wish I knew what size head that screw is and where to find a socket the right size. Thanks for your help!

That’s ghe same method I use, be careful not to touch the face of the tire with the screwdriver, as I have damaged them in the past as well

The head of the screw is either 5 or 5.5 mm. Joe

I use wooden toothpicks. If one breaks just grab another. The soft wood shouldn't damage anything.

Another good tip. As for video of the whistle, I am not able to do so as for one, I do not have a fancy phone.
