Noticed today that my Hudson would not pull the 7 Pullman Cars, (5 passenger, 1 baggage and a K-Line RPO).

The wheels just were just spinning, they were fine yesterday. Replaced 2 traction tires a few weeks ago and they look good.

Then a thought crossed my mind (dangerous) does this engine require 4 traction tires? I have played with this engine about 10 years and do not remember ever putting on 4 tires.

Does this VL Hudson 5344 require 4 tires?  Been in the house tooooo long

Also, I could slide a single piece of paper between the front drive wheel and middle wheels and track (not the 2 back wheels with traction tires)

Thanks for the comments

Had a brain $%^& during the President's daily virus update.  DIRTY TRACK !!!!

Yep, went to the garage cleaned the tracks and then turned on the power , engine ID and there it went.

Yes , it can /will/ has pulled more cars, the current train length , including engine and tender is about 12 feet.

Dirty track will get you every time.I had trouble with dirty track.Put to much smoke in a locomotive.I spent a while cleaning the track.Still the locomotive would not pull any good sized train. So I gave up.The next day the train pulled the train just fine.
