FROSTBURG,MD. 8/18/1912
103 years ago today occurred one of the worst trespassing incidents during the operation of WM's Connellsville Subdivision (opened that year)

4 local women were killed and 1 injured while on a "photography excursion" to the nearby Borden Tunnel. They were struck by a eastbound passenger train.
Obviously photography of RR objects by trespassers was a problem 103 years ago, as it is today.
Those interested in the full (and gory) details are invited to view on Frostburg Fire Dept.No. 1's Facebook page. (google Frostburg FD) it does not require facebook signin.

The link was removed when I tried to look.

Back in the day, people didn't lawyer up so easily, and companies weren't big on settling anything. I'd bet the railroad pretty much said, "Hey, they shouldn't have been there, consider yourself lucky we're not suing for the red smears on our locomotive" to the families of those killed.
