Curiously, prewar Gilbert American Flyer was the first to have a 3/16 scale O Gauge 4-8-4 UP Northern, so maybe the 844 should have had their name on the tender sides?
Yes for one of the toy train conventions, LCCA I believe, when held in Denver. It was a magnetic overlay.

If you mean "steam locomotive #844", then yes, her tender carried a magnetic sign for "LIONEL LINES" on the one-way return trip LCCA excursion from Denver back to Cheyenne (there LCCA passengers were then bussed back to Denver, from Cheyenne after touring the UP Steam Shop, as 844 was being put away). That event took place in June 2010. Also, for what it's worth, Lionel offered a "special version" of UP FEF-3 #844 with two "LIONEL LINES" magnetic tender name labels in the model box.

Yes, I was on the trip and witnessed the magnetic tender signs being applied.
