An local 7.5 inch club wants to expand, city fathers not so sure. Looks like a nice layout though.

Don't see many of those around anymore.
I've got two within driving distance. One is on the rather dead side (Last I knew.) and the other is growing strong, but is now running into issues like this where the city has changed things so they can't continue as they wanted, but they adapted and still have grown. The only problem is they are both a drive from me, so the equipment I inherited is just sitting unused in a shed. I really need to get it to my house and cleaned up and running again. Maybe I can circle my house with a loop...
Where is South Weber? Or Weber, itself, even?

Actually, the 1.5" scale/7.5 gauge hobby is going strong. I'm not in it, but I know
several guys who are. One of them just bought a new (to him) Alco RS-3 for $6000.
16 hp. Woo-hoo! If you think O-scale is big and heavy...nah. One of the guys scratch builds rolling stock and his own switches. His workshop contains sheet steel instead of
sheet styrene, and much of the painting is done using auto paint and methods.
A set of freight trucks, with wheels, typically runs $300.
South Weber is in the southern Part of Weber County UT. It's near Ogden UT. This park is probably within sight of the UP main line that runs through Weber Canyon and near where the Transcontinental Railroad came through
Any club that is modelling the SP like the video showed in the link is all right in my book!
Actual video will start after the mandatory (ugh!) 30 sec. commercial:
