I'm looking for someone who can rewind coils for prewar Lionel trains. (I've tried contacting Bob Hennon, in TCA from MD, but he wasn't able to help me.) Does any Forum contributor know the name / e-mail address of the repair guy who goes by the name "Motor Doctor?"

The Motor Doctor link is very important to have, now that the Post-War locomotives are getting older and depending on how often they're used.
Also, some of the newer locomotives may need repairing.

I had a couple of postwar armatures rewound some years ago. I don't recall who did it.
The part turned out fine, the only issue was the cost. For postwar (and likely Modern era stuff too) it is usually less expensive to find an NOS (or good used) replacement.
Prewar is another matter.
I strongly suggest looking on that on line auction site for 2 things:
1) A used motor for sale or
2) A wrecker with good guts
Both are very apt to be less expensive than a motor rewind.
